Rossendale’s Teoli Sisters Hit The Jackpot for Rosemere!

Big-hearted fundraising sisters Maria, Emma and Elida Teoli have raised over £5,000 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, with their fabulous show-stopping extravaganza, One Night in Vegas.
Hosted by entertainer Russell Shaw, over 160 guests were treated to a glittering evening at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, with casino tables to get the party started, followed by dinner and disco. Entertainment also included a professional hair show created by Capelli Design of Haslingden and an exciting fire show by the Vegas Show Girls.
Organiser Maria Teoli said: “We’re delighted to raise money for Rosemere as Lancashire and South Cumbria’s local cancer charity. The event was in memory of Emma’s husband, Matthew Gavan who received treatment at the Rosemere Radiotherapy unit in 2010, so we thought it only fitting that we should give something back."
“We couldn’t have done it without so much help from local businesses and individuals. In particular, my sisters and I would like to thank ‘Nite Out Promotions’ who supplied a range of tables for the casino, our beautiful male and female models who were brought to life by the creative make-up artists and of course, the creative team at Capelli!
Supporting the event was Clayton Park Bakery, who donated delicious cakes that were sold via businesses and schools in Haslingden. This alone raised over £200. As well as a number of personal donations, local businesses including Butties 2 Buffets, Greetings, The Studio, Kerry's and Ultraframe-Conservatories also donated, while Novaks provided bridal attire for the models.
Dan Hill, Area Fundraising Coordinator at Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said:
“Maria, Emma and Elida are wonderful – everyone at Rosemere really appreciates all the hard work that goes into producing an event of this standard and we are delighted that £5,000 has been raised. This money will go towards funding initiatives that promote local cancer care in Lancashire and South Cumbria.”

Inspirational flower arranging demonstrations, healthy cakes from the bakery , beauty demonstrations at the hairdressers and advice and features on health products at the pharmacy.

1st Broughton Scouts were also there, running a fantastic tombola and each shop was selling raffle tickets for some fantastic prizes.

Scooter-push in Blackburn

b_150_100_16777215_00___images_events_social_scooter_push.jpgPlease find attached the picture from the scooter push published in the Lancashire Telegraph. They have been kind enough to let us have a copy. When you put the article on the website, please could you put that the picture was courtesy of the Lancashire Telegraph.

Carole Davies, her friends, colleagues and customers from The Clifton Arms in Blackburn held a scooter push in aid of Rosemere at the start of October 2011. All 12 scooter pushers and 7 walkers donned pink hoodies kindly donated by the Last Orders Pub in Blackburn. They set off from the Clifton Arms, travelling through Witton Park, into Pleasington before heading back into Blackburn.

After a tiring but fun 3 hours the team arrived back at The Clifton Arms for a barbecue, karaoke and raffle all in aid of Rosemere. So far the team have raised over £600 with more sponsorship due in. Carole also has a darts evening planned for early 2012 to continue their fantastic fundraising efforts.

Carole had never heard of Rosemere until one of the Clifton’s darts players Denise Burns was treated for cancer by the foundation. Carole and her team decided they would do what they could to raise the profile and awareness of Rosmere in East Lancashire and in particular Blackburn.
