Rosemere Cancer Foundation has been asked to support Phase 1 of the development of a new Oncology Unit at Westmorland General Hospital by raising funds for the refurbishment of existing wards to provide an attractive, calm and holistic environment in which to deliver local chemotherapy services. The suite will include quiet rooms where patients and their families can be private or spend time with clinical staff on a one to one basis as well as complementary therapy facilities.

As part of a new development to provide chemotherapy outpatient facilities on the same site as radiotherapy, the Rosemere Cancer Foundation has been asked to raise funds for a Patient Information Bureau. This will offer an accessible multimedia facility through which patients and their families can obtain information about all aspects of their cancer journey from benefits and specialist insurance cover to the possible side effects of their treatment and dietary advice.
