The Rosemere Cancer Foundation aims to make a real difference to patients being treated for cancer in Lancashire and South Cumbria by providing funding for projects across four areas of activity: research, patient welfare, equipment and training.

The majority of projects are submitted to quarterly meetings of the Management Committee for approval. Click here for a list of projects currently being supported by Rosemere.

In addition, each of the 4 NHS Trusts supported by the Rosemere Cancer Foundation are invited to submit an annual proposal for a major initiative that will make a significant impact on local cancer services. Rosemere then undertakes to make those initiatives the focus of local fundraising over a 12 month period, working with each Trust to bring the project into being as quickly as possible for the benefit of patients. The Brian Booth Oncology Research Prize is funded by the Rosemere Cancer Foundation in memory of Brian Booth, former Chairman of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This prize is awarded every three years for the most outstanding and beneficial local research project. Submissions are now invited and the prize will be awarded at the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Research Network Conference in October 2010.
