Rosemere has partnered with Skyline Events to offer this exciting once in a lifetime opportunity to take on the Great Wall of China whilst raising funds for Rosemere.
Stretching 6000km in a dotted line across China, the Great Wall was begun in the 5th Century BC. As it snakes across the mountains it conjures up a sense of history which is difficult to grasp until you have had the opportunity to experience it.
Our trek is very varied, as we pass through woodland and terraced farmland, and follow the contours of the beautiful hills and mountains in remote areas north of Beijing. We follow old sections of the Great Wall, as well as restored sections with smooth flagstones and lots of steps!
This challenge is physically demanding and offers fabulous scenery and a fascinating insight into a rich culture and history.
The dates of our trip are 17th to 25th October 2018 and we fly direct from Manchester Airport. Most trips of this kind usually fly from London Gatwick.
Costs and Sponsorship
For the trip there is an initial booking fee of £299 that is payable upfront and then dependent on the package you choose there are different payment options.
The two payment options to choose from are;
a) Self-fund your trip at a cost of £1730 p.p. – No minimum sponsorship required
b) Minimum Sponsorship of £3200 (£1730 to cover the cost of the trip & £1470 sponsorship) – 80% of this needs to have been raised 12 weeks before we leave.
This trip has been booked as a bespoke Rosemere challenge which will mean all participants taking part will be fundraising for Rosemere. If we struggle to fulfil the amount of participants required (20), we have agreed to open up the trip to other charitable participants. This will have no impact on your experience and nearly all of the global challenges we have been involved in historically have had participants from multiple charities.
All of our participants to date have signed up to the self-fund option, as they feel most comfortable doing this. This also means that every penny they raise will be donated to Rosemere.
There will be 6 days of trekking, with an approximate 40Km of wall covered, followed by a day to explore the history and culture of Beijing.
