Farleys Partner with Rosemere for Make a Will Week

Law firm Farleys Solicitors are pleased to announce a ‘Make a Will Week’, in conjunction with Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Only a third of people in the UK have made a Will and of those, half  have never updated it. After major life changes such as getting married, having children or moving house, it is important to ensure you have an up-to-date Will.

From Monday 23 - Friday 29 October, people across Lancashire will have the opportunity to make an appointment with Farleys to make, or update their Will in return for a donation towards Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal.

Appointments must be booked during the Make a Will week, but can be taken up until 30 November 2017. Suggested minimum donations are £100 for a single Will and £150 for a pair of Mirror Wills, with all fees being donated directly to Rosemere.

Phil Taylor, Partner and Head of Private Client at Farleys Solicitors said:

“Rosemere Cancer Centre is an incredible place, doing amazing work for patients and their families and we are delighted to run our Make a Will Week to support their work.  It’s a great opportunity for our team to come together and use our skills to raise much needed funds for such a worthy cause.”

The Make a Will Week is one of a number of fundraising activities being organised by Farleys Solicitors as part of a £10,000 pledge to Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s appeal, which launched in March to mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s regional specialist cancer treatment centre, the Rosemere Cancer Centre, at the Royal Preston Hospital.

To participate in Rosemere’s Make a Will Week, simply contact Farleys Solicitors between Monday 23 - Friday 29 October 2017 on 01254 229800, or email info@farleys.com  referencing “Make a Will Week”

Trek China for Rosemere

Our Great Wall of China launch night was a great success and thank you to everyone that attended. Russell from Skyline Events gave a great insight in to what to expect on the challenge with a detailed overview of the trip, route and accommodation, along with hints and tips for training and preparation in advance. If you weren’t able to attend, but would like to find out how to get involved please email daniel.hill@lthtr.nhs.uk or call 01772 522913.

We have decided to do a bespoke Rosemere trip in October 2018. The dates for this trip will be the 17th to 25th October, flying from Manchester Airport. If we can’t fill our quota of participants we have agreed to open up the trip to other charitable participants. This will have no impact on everyone’s experience and nearly all of the global challenges we have been involved in historically have had participants from multiple charities involved.

The cost of the trip is £1730 p.p. with a registration fee of £299 (total cost of £2029p.p.). There are two ways of covering these costs;

  • Self-funding – pay the trip costs and registration fee yourself with no minimum sponsorship required.
  • Minimum Sponsorship – Pay the £299 booking fee then raise a minimum of £3200 sponsorship. This will cover the trip cost of £1730 with the remaining £1480 as a donation to the charity. There are strict terms and conditions around this with 80% of sponsorship required 10 weeks before you set off on the trip.

We have had a lot of interests, so please get in touch if you are interested in taking on the Great Wall of China.
