Building firm steps up to support Rosemere’s Cross Bay Walk

Construction company Eric Wright Group is to sponsor this year’s 10th annual Rosemere Cancer Foundation Cross Bay Walk.

Over the last decade, the eight-mile, dog-friendly trek across the sands of Morecambe Bay from Arnside to Kents Bank has raised around £70,000 to support the charity’s work to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients across South Cumbria and Lancashire.

Hotel Acts On Its Guest List!

When regular guests David and Dorothy Hill had a suggestion for the award-winning Cedar Manor hotel in Windermere, its proprietors Jonathan and Caroline Kaye didn’t hesitate to act on it!

The Hills, of Bowness, introduced the Kayes to a charity close to their hearts, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, suggesting the hotel might like to put a collection tin on its reception desk. The Kayes however decided to go the extra mile – literally – with Jonathan running last year’s Great North Run to raise £850 for Rosemere, having chosen to make it the hotel’s 2017 charity of the year.

Chorley Golf Club Raises £14,550 for Rosemere

Chemotherapy treatment at Chorley Hospital has been given a major boost following a local golf club’s record round of fundraising activities in aid of a cancer charity.

Last year’s Captains at Chorley Golf Club - Geoff Charlson and Pauline Forshaw - chose Rosemere Cancer Foundation as their nominated charity, and after an intensive 12 months of events they were able to hand over a cheque for £14,550 this week.

Building firm again steps up to support Rosemere’s Walk in the Dark

Construction company Eric Wright Group is building on foundations first laid last year to once again sponsor Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s annual Walk in the Dark.

This year’s walk on the night of Saturday, 28th April, will be the charity’s 10th trek along the A6 from Chorley and South Ribble Hospital to Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital.

Over the last decade, 2,300 people have walked the 11-mile route. Collectively, through entry fees and sponsorship, they have raised just short of £250,000.

Hest Bank Dental Practice Keeps Rosemere Smiling

The practice team at Hest Bank Dental Care is ensuring it’s smiles all round at Rosemere Cancer Foundation having donated £1,257.56 to the charity’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal.

To help the appeal reach its £1.5 million target, the Hest Bank team took part in a paddle boat challenge at the end of last year, which saw dentists versus dental nurses, racing against one another atop giant, rowable surfboards on a freezing Lake Windermere! There was also a collection tin on the practice’s reception desk for patients to donate loose change.
